Olark Vs. Zopim?
For many online entrepreneurs, client support is their best asset. The product maybe on par with others, it might even be inferior to others, but people will buy from them because they have superior customer service. HelpDesks are fine, email support is good, public forums are swell BUT on a customer’s stand point, nothing will be better than instant one on one support.
It’s a pain to email support. Usually, if there’s a login on help desk, people stop short and don’t do it. Lots of sales are lost because your website lacks instant chat support.
This is where services like Olark and Zopim come in.
I know, I know, there are dozens of Free live chat softwares out there….most of them are more trouble than they are worth eventhough they are free….the good one’s still offer a premium plan so you still have to pay.
Anyways, back to the review.
Since they are both nearly identical, it would be better for me to show you some of the pros of both of these wonderful services.
Pros:
- Easy setup, plug and play code for any platform. No downloads needed
- Can attract customers to click and chat with the operator
- Live statistics showing you where the user came from, what state/country he is from, what current page he is viewing and how long he has been there
- Email when operators are offline
- Dashboard is easy to use.
- Google Analytics tracking
- SSL and Encryption
- Some Analytics are provided in the dashboard as well
- Chat history are recorded
- Using any IM client is a huge plus. You can even have operators going mobile, aka blackberry/iphone.
- I run servers on different continents, no slow down whatsoever during chatting so that’s not a problem.
- Support, obviously, is great
- 14 Day Trial for both.
Differences:
- Olark’s support is faster and more genuine sounding. I appreciated the personal emails they sent when you signed up, how they want to help you and such. Zopim is great too, but I like the personal touch more.
- Olark is more customizable design wise. You can add graphics of your own. I’m sure Zopim will get there in a couple months.
- 14 Day trial of Olark will require a credit card. Zopim’s doesn’t.
- Their “Free Plans” are almost unusable but Olark offers a better one by a slight margin.
- Olark offers a 1 year purchase immediately. Zopim offers monthly, 3months, 6months and yearly.
- Zopim will give you discounts for getting plans of 3 months and above.
- Price. Zopim is almost cheaper by half “pre-discounts”
Bottomline, both are wonderful services. I run both on different sites. There’s really no way you can go wrong with either of them.
Be sure to choose the best plan for your business. 2 Agents are good for starting businesses but for businesses that are quickly growing, I would suggest going with plans of 5 agents before buying the top of the line plan.
If I have to choose 1, Zopim is the way to go. For people that worry about pricing and ROI, Zopim is your choice.
If I wanted style and performance and ease of use, Olark is the way to go.
